Steadycup® Questions and Answers

Can I put the cup in the dishwasher? Yes, the Steadycups® can be washed in the dishwasher and we recommend for optimum results that they be placed on the top shelf of the machine on their sides.

What age can I use the cup on my son/daughter from? Time and time again we have seen children from as young as six months take to the Steadycup®. However, we suggest that 12 months or as soon as your baby’s first tooth arrives, is the perfect time to start thinking about the transition from a bottle to a Steadycup®.

What makes the cups different from others on the market? The Steadycup® is designed to move children away from bottles and spouted cups. Its innovative design helps infants progress confidently and easily from spouted cups to grown-up cups and the Steadycup’s® open-top provides a mouth friendly alternative to spouted cups; its wide, steady base helps prevent spills which boosts the child’s self confidence; and the small handle aims to increase dexterity and coordination.

Why is the handle so small? The handle is only small to an adult; to a child it is the perfect size and allows them the confidence to hold a cup like adults do and helps to increase dexterity and coordination.

Can I put them in the microwave? Yes all of Steadyco’s products are rigorously tested to at least 10 times the industry standard and are all are made of the highest quality materials to ensure safety, longevity and performance. They are also all* microwave safe and dishwasher and freezer proof (*excluding the Cutlery Set which is not microwave safe).

My son/daughter would just spill the contents all over themselves if they used this. Children will inevitably spill the contents the first few times of using the Steadycups®, but children learn very quickly and will soon be using the cups just like us grown ups (even we have little accidents sometimes)!

What is the problem with ‘sippy’ cups anyway? Research has shown that prolonged use of spouted cups and bottles can dramatically increase the risk of tooth decay whilst also hampering social development. It is also widely believed that prolonged use of bottle teats can affect speech development.

Why are the cups so hard to knock over? The Steadycups® wide base helps prevent spills, boosting self confidence in children when using.

Does the Steadycup come with a lid? No, but our Booster Cup does.

Can I buy a Steadycup® from my supermarket? The Steadycup is now available from selected Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Waitrose, Mothercare and Babies R Us stores as well as Lloyds Pharmacy.
